Vietnam is removing restrictions, applying new regulations from 15 March 2022 to reopen borders to international tourists.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued Document 465/BVHTTDL-TCDL guiding the second phase of international arrivals (from now until fully opening March 15). In which, the new regulation is that foreigners, Vietnamese residing abroad can come to Vietnam by regular international commercial flights, instead of just charter flights as before.

The Vietnam new regulations also allow after 3 days of participating in the tour, if the result is negative for nCoV (RT-PCR), tourists can continue to go to localities to welcome international guests (Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Khanh) Hoa, Phu Quoc, Binh Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City). Guests wishing to visit relatives in other localities need to register in advance with the travel agency for procedures. Those who test positive will be isolated and treated.

In addition, international visitors need to have health insurance with the content of paying for Covid-19 treatment from $20,000, instead of $50,000 as before.

Guests still have to meet the old conditions such as participating in the tour program of a travel agency, a certificate of full dose of Covid-19 vaccine or a certificate of healing within 6 months; negative test result for nCoV (RT-PCR) within 72 hours before departure.

For travelers under 16 years old, over 65 years old or pregnant women, people with underlying medical conditions who have not been vaccinated must have a negative test certificate. Children under 2 years old do not need to be tested. These cases need to be accompanied by a guardian and join the tour for 7 days, before going to other localities. Guests are tested on the 3rd and 7th day of the itinerary.

Vietnam – No More Travel Restrictions After Mar 15, 2022

On March 15, Vietnam will fully reopen to tourism, lifting travel restrictions. According to the Vietnam new regulations, international guests do not need to register for a tour, but still need to have a certificate of full vaccine dose or recovery, in addition, need to have a negative nCoV test before boarding (24 hours for rapid test, 72 hours for RT). -PCR). Within 24 hours of arrival in Vietnam, guests must have a negative nCoV test before participating in tourism activities.
